Prasenjit Ghosal, better known by his stage name "Dabbu," is a renowned music composer based in Mumbai. He was born on 2nd December, 1979 in Kolkata, West Bengal. With his incredible talent and hard work, he has made a name for himself in the national music scene. Dabbu started his career as a guitar player, playing for several Bollywood and Bengali film songs, non-film songs, and ad commercials. He later transitioned into music composition, working as a music composer in Mumbai and Kolkata. His songs have graced some of the best film productions, and he has composed several Bengali (Regional) film songs. Dabbu's career as a music composer began with the film production company Shree Venkatesh Films in Kolkata.
From there, he continued to compose music for various films, becoming a sought-after music composer in the industry. He has made music for movies such as Bangali Babu English Mem (2014), Beporowa (2019), Ajob Premer Golpo (2020), and BhoyPeo Na (2022). Apart from his work in the film industry, Dabbu has also performed internationally at various events. In 2006, he performed at the Frankfurt Book Fest, Lille Fest, and Bozar Fest in Brussels. He also performed at the British Museum in Johannesburg in 2011 for WITS University, South Africa. One of Dabbu's remarkable achievements is the popularity of some of his songs, known for their catchiness.
