Susmita Chowdhury, a Costume Designer, was born on 30 April. She resides in Hyderabad, Telangana. Susmita completed her 12th in Science stream at the Luit Valley Academy from 2014-16. She was an Intern at DC Apparels, Guwahati, Assam, as the Floor Manager for the knitwear manufacturing unit from June to July 2017. She worked backstage as an Intern for one month at the London Fashion Week in February 2018 and as an Intern at Central Silk Board, Jorhat, Assam, as a Researcher on the manufacture and value addition of Muga and Eri silk from June to July 2018. She was a Fashion Designer at New York Fashion Week held in the United States in February 2019 and presented the INIFD Student Show. She also worked as a Fashion Designer at Enchanted Velvet, Hyderabad, Telangana, from April to June 2019 and as an Event Manager at Humansofnirvana, Hyderabad, from June 2018 to February 2020.

She worked as a Costume Designer from September to November 2020, Creative Producer from December 2020 to September 2021, and Lead Costume Designer from May to September 2021 at Ellanar Films, Hyderabad, Telangana. She has been a Mentor for Vybe company in Hyderabad to help them grow and organize art community events since May 2019. She has also been a Freelance Fashion Illustrator since June 2016, a Fashion Stylist since February 2017, and a Cosplayer since October 2017.

She has been the Founder and Design Director at Nirlojyo since October 2018. Nirlojyo is a clothing brand based on organic and sustainable fashion development. They have custom-made fabrics from the North Eastern side of India. She shares her design illustrations and writings on her Instagram page, known by the username Sushichoudhury. She also has an Instagram page for the clothing brand Nirlojyo.
