Shreya Rawat is a filmmaker and a creative producer. She went to the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata, where she learned about production. Rawat has a BA in Journalism from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce. With extensive experience in acting, producing, directing and working as an AD in fiction and documentaries, she naturally comes up with fresh themes and ideas. Green Grandma is her production company where she provides writers with script development. They also often conduct screenwriting workshops. While she was studying at the Delhi University College and took part in theatre, she found out the real meaning of cinema and the impact it can have. Thus, inspired her to pursue a career in storytelling. She has helped produce short films, such as Chilgam, Dusk and Autumn. She was also in the cast of the movie An Untold Story of Paperboats. Her short film, Altar, premiered at the Mumbai International Film Festival in 2022. Her co-production Dusk won the Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Award in 2021. Shreya is also leading GenreX, a genre community from South Asia that connects fans with artists and collects ideas in genres like horror, sci-fi and fiction. Besides, she is heading Project Solution at Root.ax, an accelerator program by the Storyculture Company. For Rawat, producing films is found to be at the intersection of creativity, imagination, impact & scale.
