Masaan Movie Review
ORE AST REW
- Music Director:
Plot: Masaan has two stories that meet in a place. Both the stories are very touching love stories. This film has Richa Chadda, Sanjay Mishra, Nikhil Sahni, Shweta Tripathi and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. Neeraj Ghaywan is the director of the movie.
The story starts with the Sanskrit Pundit and his daughter Devi is living an neutral life. Devi loves to admire the birds and the bees. She is interested in knowing about them in detail. Devi and her friend Piyush, were on their way to research them. They stay in a lodge and they happened to get attracted fatally. When the lodge was raided, they both fell in the eyes of the police, who started to blackmail them. But Piyush escapes from the situation and now the victims are the Pundit and his daughter Devi.
The next story in the movie is about the love that is ruined by the caste system. Deepak is a low caste boy, who loves the upper caste girl Shaalu. Deepak was very good at his studies. But he was forced by his family to do their family job, which was done by them for generations. Their family job is to burn the corpse. Shaalu too loved Deepak and they develop their love, though they know about their caste and their people well. These two stories are merged in a place called Masaan.
All the characters in the stories have lived as the real people. The story touches the heart and while leaving the theatres, we get a feeling that our heart weighs a little extra than ever.
Masaan … Worthy watching for the performances!
