D'Mello, who wrote the screenplay for Perfect Mrs. India 2018, supported all women. She has written extensively for regional supplements like Westside Plus and Midday Metro, the Parent and Child magazine, and The Record Magazine.

She has also written for Mid-Day, Hindustan Times, and Bombay Times. While employed there, she wrote extensively for chalomumbai.com, which later changed its name to mid-day.com. She wrote two books titled Contemporary Spiritual Leaders of India for Magna Publications, which contained essays on spiritual leaders, their philosophies, and their lives. And in Buddha's Tales for the Young, Norbu, an eight-year-old mischievous boy who frequently nods off when his monk teacher tells him about Gautama Buddha, narrates stories about Buddha, and his visions transport us to the world of the Buddha.
