.’ The serial is based on the book of the same name and focuses on two girls, Neela and Maala. Neela is born and brought up in a village by her mother who works as a maid servant in a rich man’s house. She has a love for gaining knowledge and studies, however, her mother can’t afford to pay for her higher education. The rich man decides to pay for her studies and does so. When he visits the village with his family, his grand-daughter Maala befriends Neela and together they start a club for children.
They begin to start writing plays and staging them, which soon attracts the attention of people nationwide. After this incident, Maala’s mother decides to take Neela along with her and provide for her further education in Chennai. Neela and Maala, together, go to Chennai and how their life turns after this is what constitutes the rest of the story. If Neela manages to achieve success and if she fares in life after facing several challenges, is what makes this serial wholesome to watch.
