Chandrakanta Tamil is a dubbed version of the supernatural serial Chandrakanta,broadcast on the Color TV channel. Chandrakanta Jai Singh is the name of the queen around which the story revolves. Her mother,Ratnaprabha, has a dagger of Lord Vishnu which she has kept safely for years, until her powers remained intact. Her magic is bound to waver with her age growing age. Iravati Singh, another magical and evil queen wants the dagger. She participates in a competition so as to win the dagger.Ratnaprabha fights with her husband, the king, to not give her the dagger as her award. She doubts Iravati’s intentions. Iravati adopted her late husband’s brother’s son, Veer. Ratnaprabha refuses to give the dagger which angers Iravati. She wants to marry Veer and Chandrakanta after twenty-one years to get the powers of the dagger, which Chandrakanta would acquire later. Iravatiattacks the kingdom of Ratnaprabha and kills Ratnaprabha and her husband but Ratnaprabha manages to protect Chandrakanta with the help of a dolphin.

The dolphin safely deliversChandrakanta to a village’s coast where a fisherman’s family adopts her. Meanwhile, Veer is black magic-ked by Iravati and he is coming in full control of her. After twenty-one years, Chandrakanta and Veer are both grown up. Chandrakanta is with her fishermen’s family and helps them earn money, while Veer is a fully prepared fighter also in control of her stepmother Iravati. Suryagarh, the kingdom of Iravati and Vijaygarh, the kingdom of Ratnaprabha have now sworn enemies. Iravati sends Veer to conquer Suryagarh and capture Chandrakanta. He has to fake love Chandrakanta and take the dagger from her.But Veer is unable to break her heart and steal the dagger from her. She has a dagger mark on her body.The king of Suryagarh is impressed with Chandrakanta’s fighting skills.

Iravati sends some soldiers to kill Chandrakanta but they come back injured from head to toe. On being asked what happened they tell her that Veer was with her and teaching her fighting. Her parents are against her learning these magical fighting skills. They are trying to marry her off but Veer listens this and Chandrakanta blames her for instigating her parents. Iravati’s attempts to kill Chandrakanta continues, but without any success. Chandrakanta and Veer fall in love with one another and Veer try everything in his power to stop her parents from getting married. But in the end Veer throws Chandrakanta.
