Puthiya Thalaimurai Sakthi Awards 2015 was the first edition of a prestigious award ceremony which seeks to recognise women of calibre and bestow them with Puthiyathalaimurai Sakthi Award. The award ceremony is usually held on International Women’s Day and is organised in association with Fourth Dimension Media Solutions. It was held on 8th March in The Raintree Hotel in Anna Salai, Chennai.
It is true that people have become more aware about their rights and in general, the feeling of equality now pervades a wider space than it did before. The CEO of Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, Mr. Shankar believes that this award will give a further push towards equality by giving female achievers their much deserved due.
The awards are given in the following categories of: Achievement, Scholarship, Courage, Leadership, Mercy and Talent. Many ladies, who have wowed everyone with their exceptional achievements, were presented with the trophy. Amongst them, veteran actress Aachi Manorama won an award for her huge range of work. She has acted in over thousand films. Former IPS Officer Tilakwati, gave away the awards to the ladies.
The ceremony was broadcasted on Puthiya Thalaimurai TV on Sunday 22nd March 2015 at 3:00 PM and a rerun was shown at 7:30 PM.
