Madurai Meenakshi Darshanam is a Kannada language TV show that aired on Sri Sankara TV, a spiritual channel, every Friday at 6:45 pm. The first thing that comes to our mind when we think of Madurai is the Madurai Meenakshi Temple, a historic temple dedicated to Meenakshi, a form of Parvati. It is also known for its beautiful medieval architecture and its 14 gopurams, which form a monumental part of any Hindu temple. There is also a sacred pool in which pilgrims take a dip to attain virtue.
There is a sacred golden lotus within the pool. The temple is always packed with devotees waiting to get the blessings of the goddess. Every Friday evening, special pujas and offerings are given to the goddess. Watching the puja is considered sacred in the Hindu culture. The show enables people from all over the country to witness it without having to visit the temple every week.
