The first season premiered in the year 2008, and in 2012 this season began to be aired. The format of the show brings six winners of any singing reality television series and twelve well-known faces from the same shows. The winners are called as the Champions, and the others are known as Challengers.

On Saturdays, each Champion competes against other Champions, where the weakest performer is shifted to the Challenger’s group. On Sunday, all the Challengers perform for public voting. The one who receives the highest votes is escalated to the Champions team, and the one with the least number of votes is eliminated from the series. All the contestants are guided and mentored by two of the most respected music directors in the industry, Shantanu, and Shaan. Each episode focuses on various innovative musical challenges and provides its viewers with a never seen before experience.

Although getting switched each group quite a few times during the season, Mohammed Irfan won the title of this series. The first runner-up of the show, Shreeram, maintained an all the way stay at the group of Champions but didn’t make it to the finals to win the title. The first one to get eliminated was Raajdeep, followed by Harpreet, Torsha, Shivamm, Hemant, and Sonia. No elimination took place as the episode after Sonia being evicted due to judges’ decisions. But the next week four contestants, Nihira, Rehman, Vaishali, and Sanchita got eliminated together.
