Soniya Sharma is an Indian singer who is stepping forward very rapidly in the music industry. She got her fame from singing reality show on Star Plus channel named ‘Amul Chote Ustaad' in the year 2008. She was the winner of the special jury award in the show. Soniya Sharma is a resident of Pehowa city, district Kurukshetra, Haryana. She was born on 19 March 1999 in the Allahabad city, Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Mr. B. M. Sharma hails from Amritsar, Punjab and is posted in Central Armed Police Force of India while her mother belongs to Haryana.

Soniya is the youngest in her family and has four elder brothers. Her father wanted to be a singer himself but due to some adverse circumstances, he couldn’t follow his passion but he used to make his four sons practice singing. Soniya was very young at that time.

Due to the musical environment, she got at her home; she started learning singing at the age of two and a half years. She has done her schooling from SIS Academy, Pehowa. Soniya is also very fond of Kathak dancing and has done a diploma course in it. She recently got married to Raman Kapoor, who is a troupe member of Mika Singh's musical band. Her first reality show was ‘Sangam Kala group’.

After that she has done many reality shows like ‘Voice of Punjab-5’, ‘Amul Star Voice of India Chhote Ustaad' (where she was acclaimed with the special jury award in the year 2008), ‘Awaaj Punjab Di' (a Punjabi reality show on Mh1 channel in which she got 1st runner-up prize in the year 2012.) and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar Season 2’ on Star Plus channel in the year 2012. She has also done training in Sufi singing under the guidance of iconic ghazal singer Shri Jagjit Singh for some time. Soniya has done her first playback singing for a Punjabi song ‘Sanu Chad Ke Sajna' from the movie ‘Tere Bin Sajna'.

Her next song was also for a Punjabi movie ‘Saka' in the year 2016. She has also marked her powerful presence in the Bollywood from the ‘Great Grand Masti' movie song ‘Resham Ka Rumaal' with Toshi Sabri in the year 2016. The song was a blockbuster hit and has got huge popularity. ‘Dil Le Gui Kudi Gujarat Di' with Jasbir Jassi is her second song in Bollywood from the movie ‘Sweetie weds NRI'. The movie got released on 2 June 2017 and this song is also soaring high in popularity. Apart from playback singing, she has also done almost 200 albums with T- Series Company.

Most of her albums include devotional songs. She is also an active participant of Mata Ki Chowki and Mata Ka Jagrata. Soniya is very active in live stage concerts and she has also proved her performing powers. Her vivacious personality and lavish talent are the reason for her exponentially growing fan following. In such a small age she has achieved so much in her life.

Considering her immense success, she was awarded the ‘Youth Achievers Award 2012’by Whistling Woods International; Inspiration. She has also got the opportunity to perform at an event which was organized to pay tribute to the singing legend Lata Mangeshkar on her eightieth Birthday at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Mumbai. This performance is of great importance for Soniya because she considers Lata Mangeshkar Ji as her ideal and wants to do something close what Lata Ji has done in her life. Suchitra Mitra

Suchitra Mitra was an Indian singer actively involved in the field of classical music from 1941 to 2011. She composed many songs of Rabindra Sangeet and was also a playback singer. She has also contributed in the field of academics by working as a professor and the head of Rabindra Sangeet Department, Rabindra Bharti University. Suchitra Mitra learned at the Scottish Church College, the University of Calcutta and from Vishwa-Bharti University, India. Since her father, Saurindra Mukherjee, was a close associate of the Tagore family, the love for music was naturally cultivated from her very childhood. Pankaj Mullick one day recognized her talent in music and who taught her the stepping stones and fundamentals of Rabindra Sangeet. As a result, she naturalized for the same with the god given a gift of Voice and expression. Suchitra Mitra, due to her flourishing love for the music decided to undergo training in Rabindra Sangeet from Sangeet Bhavan in Shantiniketan. Due to her aptitude in music, she was awarded a scholarship for pursuing the course. She learned the basics of music from renowned faculties such as Santidev Ghosh and Shaiajaranjan Mazumdar. After completing her graduation, she founded 'Rabitirtha' along with Dwijen Choudhary, which was the only institution providing schooling the field of Rabindra Sangeet. She has given numerous the performances in the U.S. and Canada along with her troops from Rabitirtha. Suchitra Mitra's repertoire and expertise in the Rabindra Sangeet, and her unique ability to inculcate love for the same in the audience established her as one of the most reputed names in the domain of performing arts in India. She was felicitated with numerous awards such as 'Padma Shri' in 1974, HMV Golden Disc Award and Allauddin Puraskar from Government of West Bengal for her sincere efforts and contribution in the field of drama and arts. Suchitra Mitra died of cardiac arrest after a prolonged illness.
