Anweshaa made an impact in the singing industry with her performance in Amul’s STAR Voice of India, the
session, at just the mere age of 13. She was born on December 15, 1993 as the only child of Kushal and Mita Dattagupta. Even before auditioning for Chhote Ustaad she inspired to become a playback singer idolizing the great
. She was a runner up in Chhote Ustaad, which gave her a great opportunity to showcase her talent to the Indian music industry.
She began training for her dream at the age of four with Shri Jayanta Sarkar. He taught her about classical Indian music and still teaches her to date. She has come on various musical shows in Indian television ranging from Sabujer Deshe on ETV Bangla to Antakshari on Star Plus.
Anweshaa made her debut as a playback singer in the 2008 movie
. Her vocals were used for “Tha Kar Ke”. Since then she had the opportunity to work with famed music director such as A.R. Rahman in Raanjhanaa’s “Banarasiya” for which she was a backup singer.
As Anweshaa continues to grow with time she hopes to continue to excel in her musical career. She is looking to strengthen her portfolio and with time be considered to be one of the great in the industry.
