K for Kishore was a television singing contest telecast on Sony TV with a four hour grand finale. The show had twelve participants. The idea was created to determine which of these 12 contestants was nearest to famous singer
Kishore Kumar
of olden times. All these contestants were professional and seasoned singers. The show was an attempt to ascertain who comes closest to Kishore Kumar's voice and style of singing. The panel of judges of the show included Bappi Lahiry, noted singer and music director and nephew of Late Kishore Kumar. Another judge to the show was
Sudesh Bhonsle
who had rendered some of the unrecorded songs of the late singer, as he is the one who can very successfully imitate the the voice of the late singer. Kishore's son Amit Kumar and famous actor Rajesh Khanna were celebrity guest judges of the show. The show had been produced by Media Tech and lasted for twenty episodes. The show was hosted by Rajeshwari Sachdev and Babul Supriyo. The uniqueness of the show was in the fact that unlike most reality shows, there was no popularity voting and the judges and the studio audience had the ultimate say in the contestant's progress to the next round. The contestants were divided in to various teams and finally Arnab Chakrabarti of Team Jhumroos was declared as the winner of the show.

were declared as 1st and 2nd runners up. Both runners up were from bangdoos team.
The programme was aired on Sony TV from December 21, 2007 to March 4, 2008 over 20 episodes with 4 hour grand finale.
