After his acclamation in the Indian Idol Season 3, he was named as the Brand Ambassador of Peace, Communal Harmony and Excellence for the state of Meghalaya by the Meghalaya Government. It was believed that after his appearance on Indian Idol, he brought fame and recognition to his hometown and state. This highlight brought harmony between the two rivals- tribal and non-tribal populations- of the state, which began living in harmony henceforth.
