The series is the Hindi adaptation of the Beauty and the Beast story. According to a legend, there are seven worlds, and demons live in one of them. A demon, Valak, was praying to Lord Shiva so that demons could enter any world. Devlekha, the princess of the land of demons, wanted to break Valak’s meditation for the betterment of all lands. Valak had two sons-Pratham and Ashwat. Devlekha falls for Pratham. She plans to create a rift between them to distract Valak. She is successful but Pratham discovers her identity. He blames her for Ashwat’s mysterious death. She kills him and curses his spirit to roam around the earth unless he obtains the body of a relative.

After many years, Devlekha takes birth as Bela. Ashwat’s son, Ravat, is killed by his cousins. Pratham’s spirit takes over his body. He plans to take revenge for Ravat and Ashwant. Aditya is one of the killers of Ravat and loves Mallika. Ravat assumes Mallika to be Devalekha and plans to marry her to hurt Aditya. To save Mallika, she replaces Mallika with herself and marries Ravat. He does not accept her as his wife because he believes he cannot marry an angel. Bela decides to kill him and pretends to help him find Ashwant’s killer.

Circumstances change and Bela starts falling in love with him. Ravat realizes that Bela is the angel who had betrayed her. He expels her from his home. It is revealed that Bela’s biological mother is trying to kill Bela, and Valak is responsible for Ashwant’s death. Ashwant kills Bela’s mother to keep her safe, but she misunderstands it. They separate ways but reunite again when Bela discovers the truth. Bela had to sacrifice her angel power to be with Ravat.

Ravat reveals that he never loved Bela and planned to consummate with her to exact revenge. They separate again. Bela gives birth to a dead child and vows vengeance on Ravat. She discovers it was Valak’s twin Malak, who was posing as Ravak. He had created misunderstandings between her and Ravat. They both kill Valak. Bela regains her powers as she has fulfilled her promise. It is also revealed that their child is alive. They reunite again with their child.
