Stardust Awards 2005 were the second edition of the annually held Stardust Awards. The Stardust Awards was started in 2004 to recognize the best in Hindi film and entertainment industry. The awards were held in partnership with the Stardust magazine and the Sony MAX channel. Each edition of the awards honours the best in the film industry from the previous year. Thus, the Stardust Awards of 2005 recognized the films released in 2004. The winners were decided by a panel of judges selected by the magazine.

Winners were selected by the judges on various aspects involved in filmmaking. There were also some awards by people’s choice. While the second edition had various awards, many of them have been discontinued as of 2017 while much more have been added. The Stardust Awards are prestigious and second to the Film fare Awards, which are called the Oscars of India. As with any award show, the Stardust Awards 2005 was filled with glitz, glamor, and entertainment.

The show had various hosts who changed throughout the show. The show started with a stand-up segment where the hosts took shots at the celebrities reminiscing at the events of the past year in a humorous way. The show also had parodies, comedy skits, etc.

Between these segments, various awards were presented from the technical areas of films like sound, cinematography, art, etc. Dances are a unique part of Bollywood, and the show had various stars dancing on the chartbusters of the past years. The songs belonged to their popular films and the ones which were a hit among the public. The show also had tributes to the various people from movie industry that died in the past year. As the show ended, the most prestigious awards were handed out.
