Aatish Kapadia is a well-known writer, producer, and director of the Indian film and television industry. He never thought of joining the show business as he comes from a businessman family dealing in textiles. His big break in Hindi television came with the serial “Alpaviram”, which was aired on Sony TV. He also directed, produced and wrote serials like Khichdi, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. Some of the movies he has written are
, Khichdi: The Movie, ‘
’, ‘Yaadein’, ‘Mann’ (
), and ‘
’. All the above movies have been produced by big production houses with a multi-star cast in them.
It’s been awhile since he started in the film industry. He is the jack of all trades and is always considered as a genius among his circles. He gained worldwide recognition when he gave soundtrack for the participants, Whitney and Chechen, in the dance program, “
So You Think You Can Dance
”, based on Tandav Music.
He is a typical Gujju Bhai, with a great sense of humor, and this is evident in his serials like Khichdi, and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. His written script has always had great one liners to make people laugh. He is also a tough taskmaster who believes in perfection. He opened a production house named “Hats Off Productions”, in 2003, along with J. D. Majethia (who also acted in Khichdi), and their company further launched an acting academy, “Hats Off Actors Studio”. Currently, the serial “Badi Door Se Aaye Hain”, has been produced by their production house.
This multi-talented genius has a long way to go, and we hope that he will keep entertaining us in the same manner as he has done in the past.
