“Kadambini” is a Bengali soap opera that aired on 6th July 2020 on Zee Bangla but was discontinued on 3rd October 2020, just three months after it was launched due to its historical inaccuracy and low rating. The serial was based on the life of Kadambini Ganguly, the first lady of Bengal who became a doctor. The storyline is based on the late 19th century and early 20th century, an era where many historical reforms took place along with the struggle for freedom. The serial depicts the story of a brave and young Kadambini Ganguly who stood up for equality and women's rights during this era and protested against the violence that the women of Bengal had to endure at that time. She had to stand up against many obstacles to reach her goal but she never gave up her aim in life and became the first lady doctor of the area overcoming those obstacles and earning the love and respect of many citizens.
