Anandi is a little girl from rural Rajasthan who loves to study, play, and do everything that a child ought to do. But circumstances forced her parents to marry her off to a rich family in their area. She struggles to cope with the changes and her new family, and her husband, Jagdish, who is also a young boy, does not make it easier for her.

However, despite their childish feud, they also support each other when needed. Anandi’s in-laws try their hardest to make her comfortable, but she can’t seem to win Jadish’s grandmother’s affection. Later though, as she slowly starts to learn everything that an ideal wife and daughter-in-law ought to do, the grandmother accepts her, loves her as her granddaughter, and arranges for her further studying. Anandi is a tale spreading awareness about the social monster of child marriage, which is still prevalent in some parts of India and continues to ruin little girls' lives.

The protagonist grows up to be an educated woman who then fights against the horrors of child marriage herself, and the show sends out a social message to the audience warning them about all that can and will happen if these practices continue to exist.
