Radha Kumari is a very famous South Indian Actress who was born in 1931 in Viayanagaram. She was the daughter of a middle class couple named Ramana Murthy and Surya Prakasamma. She showcased her acting skills through various stage shows at a very early age of 12 after which she entered the film industry. Her parents were very supportive of her decisions. She made her debut in Telugu movies in the year 1962 with the movie named ‘Tene Manasulu’ which was directed by
Adurthi Subba Rao
and produced by Sundaram under ‘Babu Movies’ banner. In this movie, she had played the role of the Hero’s mother played by Actor Krishna. Further, she has acted in over 600 movies in the film career over the several decades. She was the one of the best choice to play mother to several top heroes of two generations. In the later days, she was also considered to be a good replacement for the late Actress Nirmalamma. She is also known to be an actress with a good sense of humour.
During the initial days of her film career, Radha Kumari fell in love with Writer, Raavi Kondala Rao and they got married soon after. They have also acted as Husband and Wife in many movies. The couple have a son named RV Sashi Kumar. The 70 year old actress breather her last on 8 March 2012 due to a cardiac arrest. After her husband, Raavi Kondala Rao left for London, Radha Kumari complained of chest pain and was being taken to a hospital. She died on the way to the hospital. Her husband immediately rushed back home once he heard the news. Many celebrities expressed their grief on the death of this great actress and paid their last respects at her residence in Mothi Nagar.
