The show has been directed by Sundar K Vijayan and produced under the banner of Radaan Mediaworks. ‘Chithi’, meaning mother’s younger sister or step-mother in Tamil, is most aptly named serial for the plot revolve around the loving step-mother, Saradha, played by Radhika. Though both the original and the reboot have completely different plots, the values imbibed, and the feeling revoked remain the same.
The fierce yet soft-hearted, strong-willed yet fragile Saradha’s journey through the banks of heartaches, perseverance, willingness to forgive, and binding the family together are the highlights of the beloved show.
