Vanitha Film Awards 2016  Malayalam TV SHOWS on Mazhavil Manorama TV

Kerala has a group named Malayala Manorama. This group has its own magazine by the name Vanitha. It magazine organises an award show every year to applaud the artists as well as the people who work behind the camera to make a movie. It is an old award show and also enjoys high viewership, ever since its inception in the year 1998. Cera is the title sponsor of the show. Sunny Leone, who is known for her erotic movies in Bollywood, shook a leg at the show this year. Hansika Motwani also gave a sizzling performance.

Prithviraj Sukumaran, who also won the Best Actor award, entertained the audience with his funny banter with singer Rimi Tommy. Actor Siddharth Menon too gave an entertaining and energetic performance, prompting the audience to whistle. The show commenced with John Varghese winning the Best Debut Director Award for his movie Adi Kapyare Kootamani. Jomon T. John and Dinesh Master won the Best Cinematographer and Best Choreographer Award respectively.

Jomon T. John was honoured for his work in the movie Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie while Dinesh Master was awarded for his choreography in the film Amar Akbar Anthony. Salim Ahmed won the Best Script Award for his movie Pathemari. The Best Singer Award went to Vijay Yesudas and Vaikom Vijayalakshmi in the Male and Female category respectively. Vijay Yesudas's music director in the film Premam, Rajesh Murugesan, won the Best Music Director Award.

Premam's actress Sai Pallavi won the Best Newcomer Actress Award while the Best Newcomer Actor Award was shared between Premam's actors Krishna Sankar, Sharafudheen, and Shabareesh Varma. Rafeeq Ahamed's lyrics in the movie Ennu Ninte Moideen won him the Best Lyricist award. Mamta Mohandas and Dileep won the Star Pair Award for their sizzling chemistry in the picture Two Countries.

Nedumudi Venu won the Best Villian award for his devilish act in Oru Second Class Yathra and Aju Varghese won the Best Comedian award for his comic roles in Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Two Countries. Lena and Chemban Vinod Jose won the Best Supporting Actor awards in the Female and Male category respectively, for their movies Ennu Ninte Moideen and Oru Second Class Yathra. Rima Kallingal and Jayasuriya won the Special Performance Award in the Female and Male category respectively.

Namitha Pramod was conferred Popular Actress Award and Nivin Pauly was conferred Popular Actor Award. Premam bagged Popular Movie Award while Best Movie went to Ennu Ninte Moideen. Ennu Ninte Moideen's director R. S. Vimal won the Best Director Award and its lead actress won the Best Actress award. K.P.A.C. Lalitha was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award. In the year 2016, Mazhavil Manorama channel telecasted the show.
