Its story revolves around Karna and Raaji. Raaji is an enthusiastic housemaid. She got lots of love and support from Appaiayya or Bhaskar Shanu. Karna is the youngest son of the renowned businessman and Raaji’s employer, Bhaskar. Raaji and Karna became good friends in their childhood. At some point, Karna went to London for further studies. But, Raaji, who had started liking him, never forgot him and hoped for his early return. When he returned, he failed to recognize his childhood friend, leaving her heartbroken. He also has a girlfriend named Saanvi, with whom he wants to get married. 

Eventually, he realizes his mistake and recognizes his childhood friend. They also spent some quality time, which irked Saanvi. Karna seeks Raaji’s help to introduce his girlfriend to his mother, Saraswathi. Raaji convinced her and even helped Saanvi to pass Saraswathi’s tests, with heartache. Satisfied, Saraswathi convinced her husband to make Saanvi her daughter-in-law. However, Bhaskar was more worried about Raaji, so Karna promised him to get her married to a suitable guy. He found a prospective groom, Prem, for Raaji. She agreed to marry him with a heavy heart. However, it turned out that he was already married during the wedding rituals. Bhaskar had a heart attack as the situation worsened and blamed Karna for whatever had happened with Raaji. 

On the other hand, Raaji tried to end her life, but Karna stopped her. Later, he marries her to fulfill his promise to his father. Saanvi reached the wedding venue and was shocked to see the drastic turn of events. Karna sincerely apologizes to her for his betrayal. However, Bhaskar started feeling better when he learned that Raaji had become his daughter-in-law. After marriage, Raaji was disappointed with the avoidance of other family members and her husband towards her.
