Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi is an Indian television series that aired on 11th May 2015 for the first time on Zee TV. The show is set in Agra. It revolves around the Pethewala family. The show was originally supposed to be aired under the name, “Pethewala” but was changed to Tum Hi Ho Bandhu Sakha Tumhi Ho.
The show tries to show the importance of a joint family in today’s time when families are going nuclear in their nature. The Pethewala family is a joint family who run their own sweet shop with the same name. The family’s head is Sharmila Dadi, whose character is played by Madhu Malti Kapoor. She believes in the importance of family and familial bonds and is proud of the fact that her family is a close knitted family and have traditional values along with a modern mindset.
The story revolves around the lives of the younger members of the family, namely, Amar, Ayush, Avni, Ajay, Bhushan, Utpal and Mishri.
Bhushan, the second son of the Pethewala family falls in love with a girl named Shreya to whom he eventually gets married with family approval. The youngest son of the family is Ajay. Ajay marries his childhood best friend’s (Ajju) girlfriend, Sanjana as a hoax. Ajju needs to go the United States and hence is unable to marry Sanajana. But Sanjana’s parent would marry her off to someone else by the time he comes back to India so Ajju asks Ajay to marry Sanjana but it’s merely a contract marriage. However the respective families have no clue about the same. Intially the Pethewala family does not approve of Sanjana but later on accept her as their daughter in law.
The show did not gain a lot of popularity and was hence canceled. The last episode was broadcasted on 30th October 2015.
