The show focuses on the lives of the tragic fall of two sisters and deals with the themes of love, romance, depression, anxiety, tactics, and whatnot! It's a complete doze of entertainment. The two sisters- Payal and Vidhi, are exact opposites of each other. While Payal aspires to become a successful actor, Vidhi wants to become an IAS officer. The only thing common between the two is that they are both immensely passionate about following their passion/ dream job. 
 
Payal is tremendously beautiful from the outside but shallow from the inside. In the end, she ends up murdering her dear sister due to her toxic and jealous emotions. On the other hand, Vidhi is the epitome of inner beauty. She has a disabled leg, but that does not stop her from being a self-reliant, powerful girl. What goes down between the two sisters? Why do they start hating each other? Well, Ved, a young, handsome fellow, falls in love with Payal only because of her good looks. Ved's mother, Pratibha Devi, wants Ved to marry Vidhi, whom she thinks is a very hardworking young girl with simplicity. Their marriage is fixed without informing them, but they get called off as soon as Ved discovers the truth. Ved is so deeply in love with Payal that marrying anyone else is a massive nightmare. 
 
Pratibha has no option but to agree to Payal and Ved's marriage. Even though she is unhappy with the situation, the rituals begin. Now Payal isn't available for the rituals and hence sets up a look-alike to be there instead of her. There is no doubt that while Ved is in love with Payal more than his life, Payal has the same- for her art and acting. She's so passionate that she leaves the Mandap and runs away to achieve her dreams. The families are disheartened on the one hand and afraid of the deep embarrassment they would have to face on the other. Ved and Vidhi get married, but their marriage is nothing but a necessity of the moment. 
 
A revelation- Pratibha Devi had created all these tactics so that she could take revenge on Vidhi. She kidnaps Payal and blames Vidhi and her mother for everything. Vidhi is successful in proving her and her mother not guilty. Pratibha even tries to kill Vidhi on Karwa Chauth, but Ved saves her. Ved is in love with Vidhi now, so much so that he refuses when Payal returns and tries repeatedly to win him back. In The end, Payal kidnaps her sister and pushes her into the river. Ved is in intense depression, so Pratibha brings a look-alike of Vidhi just so his health can improve. The show is an absolute piece of entertainment. With such complex layers to each character, it succeeds in presenting women's empowerment on the one hand and the importance of improving mental health on the other.
