Plot
Das (Vishwak Sen) makes a gang with his childhood friends in Falaknuma, opens a store and quickly dominates the local meat industry, however they encounter some unexpected consequences, which leads them in a path of violence and crime.
Star performance
Vishwak Sen as Das is incredible, his body language, dialect everything is on point as he is also in the other departments he has only excelled in the acting department. The rest of the cast has also done a fantastic job. Uttej as Pandu is hilarious and is one of the highlights of the film.
Analysis
As the film is a remake of a celebrated Malayalam film the pressure is on and the Telugu remake can achieve that in some departments from acting, to action sequences they have been performed and choreographed well. The film has extreme violence, people who enjoy gruesome films will surely like this one. The actors have done their part well. Now let's get to brasstacks, the film does establish its characters well in the first half, but in the second half it all comes down. The film is designed for a mass audience hooting and cheering in every sequence. The film pales compared to the original Malayalam film which had depth and nuance. This film is quite apparent in its making for the mass audience, with no depth in the story. Even though the makers have tried to adapt it well in the Telugu landscape, The cinematography is top-notch and the songs are good. The downfall of the second half lets this film down. The director Vishwak Sen has tried to add the same magic as the Malayalam film but the template for a commercial Telugu film came first and the story took a back seat. People stepping in for this film in the theaters should know that this film is more of a commercial potboiler than a nuanced story. Falaknuma Das has outstanding performances, excellent cinematography, and music, but is miles behind the OG Malayalam product.
