Plot
Gandhi is a young girl who grew up listening to Mahatma Gandhi’s principles from her grandfather, Ramanchandraya. Satish, the minister’s spokesperson, compels the villagers to sell their land for a chemical factory. Ramanchandraya denies giving his land, as he has a special tree on his land, which he loves to the core. He requests Gandhi to protect the tree and passes away. Now, Gandhi takes the responsibility given by her grandpa. Will she be able to save the tree? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
Sukriti has performed well. It doesn’t look like her debut. Her performance is authentic. Ananda Chakrapani has done a commendable job. His chemistry with Sukriti is laudable. Rag Mayur did a decent job in his limited screen presence.
Analysis
The story is simple and straight. So, it is easy to predict the next proceedings. A few scenes are emotional, but overall, the film lacks emotional depth. The writing could’ve been better. The scenes when Gandhi protests to save the tree showcase her personal performance, but it is not much intense. If the writing had been better, those sequences might have impressed us. The pace is slow and makes the audience long for an engaging scene. The cinematography is good. Editing should’ve been crisper. Â
