Plot
The film is about three women- Abinaya, Mahashri, and Nisha. Abi (Shilpa Manjunath) is a software engineer who often engages in drugs and alcohol with her other two friends. However, this brings a lot of trouble to all three friends.
After a drunken driving accident, they find themselves trapped in a mysterious bungalow. They are imprisoned in this house by a physically and psychologically ill man named Veera (Natty). They suffer from beatings during these days, and even one of the girls gets killed. Veera is doing all this because he is seeking revenge for his sister’s death.
Will the girls be able to get free from the clutches of Veera? What wrong these girls have done with Veera? Watch this psycho-thriller film to know this.
Star Performance
Shilpa Manjunath gave a fantastic performance. She shows all the characteristics of a drug addict. She gave a bold and emotional performance. Her expressions deserve a lot of appreciation. She gave her best to make the film impressive.
Nataraja Subramanian, who played the role of Veera, adds a thrilling experience to the film. He executed the character of a psychopath perfectly. His performance adds depth to this film. He steals the whole film with his performance.
Motta Rajendran and Shaashvi Bala look decent on the screen. Both of them look realistic on screen.
Analysis
The film Web takes you on a journey filled with suspense and thriller. It has a thrilling narration that keeps the viewers engaged from the beginning to the end. It explores the themes of revenge, addiction, and the repercussions of one’s actions. It shows how a careless act can create several tragic happenings. The gloomy tone and the suspenseful atmosphere add depth to the psychological elements of this film. The direction by Haroon deserves a lot of appreciation. He successfully creates excitement among the viewers by building a tense atmosphere.
However, the film has various weaknesses. There are problems in pacing, and more focus could have been given to some subplots. The characters in the second half are not explored in depth.
