Plot

Robo Shankar is a tailor who was once an MLA. Robo Shankar is a trusted assistant to the local minister. Ravi Mariya Ravi Mariya wears various hats that of an actor, a >> Read More... , who is the nephew of Robo Shankar, doesn’t like the latter’s rapport with the minister. The minister, before breathing his last, divulges to Robo Shankar about Rs. 500 crore . He asks Robo to use it to serve humanity. After knowing this secret Ravi Mariya plans to kidnap Robo Shankar. While trying to escape from Ravi Mariya Robo Shankar loses consciousness and falls into a coma state.

In the meantime, Vishnu Vishal also faces some problem, and he falls head over heels in love for Nikki Galrani. There is also the story of Soori, who wants to get a divorce from his wife, Reshma. Amidst all such confusions, does Robo Shankar come out of the coma? Watch the movie to get the answer.

Star Performances

Vishnu Vishal though has less scope to perform, has done his role with utter conviction. Nikki Galarani has to her credit some comedy, romance and action scenes, and she looks cute on screen. Soori does a great job with comedy; his funny one-liners will make you laugh. Ravi Mariya and Robo Shankar have a substantial role, and they do a befitting job. The cameo of Rajendran deserves special mention. More than the hero and heroine the comedians have a lion’s share in the movie.

Analysis

There are many films in Tamil cinema that have a fresh plot. However, the treatment of them is in the dearth of the necessities that are very much required for a developed cinema.In this regard, Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikuaaran is a film that can be considered as a family entertainer that keeps you engaged at regular interludes.

What’s there?

Though the movie has a time-tested plot, it manages to keep you engrossed.
The cinematography of Shakthi is worth applause.
Editing by Ananda Lingakumar is commendable.
Some characters like Robo Shankar are disarmingly funny that it is worth applause.

What’s not there?

The script of Ezhil could have been far better.
There is a dearth of logic in most of the scenes.
One can predict the next scene easily, and the plot is a time-tested one.
The songs seem to have been forced into the movie.

Verdict

If you want to watch a film that is full of mindless comedy and is aimed at tickling your humor bones mainly, then give Vellaina Vandha Vellaikaaran a chance.
