Thangaratham” is a rural romantic action entertainer featuring “ Vettri” and Aditi Krishna in the lead roles. The movie is scripted and directed by “P Balamurugan.” Thangaratham cast includes Aadukalam Naren, Naan Kadavul Rajendran and “ Soundararaja.” Jacob Rathinaraj cranked the camera for Thangaratham. Thangaratham movie songs and the background music are composed by Tony Britto. Suresh Urs is the editor. CM Varghese produced the movie and the executive producer is Binuram.

Vettri is a village guy, who owns a tempo and delivers vegetables at the Ottanchathram market. He has a rival, Soundararaja. Aadukalam Naren is the paternal uncle of Vettri. He showers affection on Vettri, who is parentless. Meanwhile, Vettri and Aditi fall for each other. Aditi is the sister of Vettrii’s rival, Soundararaja. They both fear to open about their love, as Soundararaja would not accept it and create a commotion. Naan Kadavul Rajendran, who knows the rivalry between Vettri and Soundar, damages Soundar’s tempo and automatically Vettri was blamed. To save Vettri from Soundar’s anger, Naren sends him out of the town. To calm the rivalry between Soundararaja and Vettri, Naren takes a decision. Was that decision bridge a relationship between both the rivals? What was the decision? Could Vettri accept the decision by Naren? Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Before entering the film industry, Vettri had played in a lot of ad films. Vettri has played a lot of character roles. He was also seen as the villain in “ Strawberry” directed by Pa Vijay. So, acting is not new to him and hence he had done his best. His physique helped him do the role with ease. Soundararaja and Naren’s performances need a special mention. They have done justice to the roles. Aditi had done what is required for her role.

P Balamurugan scripted and directed the film. Although it is not a new story, shooting the film in Tamilnadu’s biggest market at its peak hours would have been a tough task. Without creating the sets, they had shot some important scenes in the Ottanchathram marketplace for 15 days. The director should be appreciated for creating the primary roles with perfection. Naren’s role is the fulcrum and also Aditi’s.

What’s There?

  • Performance by the stars gives a good feel
  • The climax touches the audiences
  • The portrayal of the characters are outstanding; kudos to Balamurugan

What’s Not There?

  • Rajendran’s comedy creates irritation in some places
  • The age old story doesn't impress

Thangaratham is a film designed for the people, who love watching the soft romance stories with sentiments. If you belong to this category, then the film will definitely impress you! Thangaratham… watch worthy!
