Plot: The film is the official remake of the superhit Malayalam film Thattathin Marayuthu. The plot or the story of the film is knit around the love story of a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl. Vinod, born in a Hindu family is loved by all and is the favorite of his mother. He falls in love with a Muslim girl named Ayesha.
It strikes the family with a surprise, and they are all against his relation with her. Ayesha's parents are also against this relationship and asks her to stay away from Vinod. The struggles they face to keep their relationship alive is the USP of the story. To see if the succeed or not, you have to go and watch the movie.
Analysis: The film has justified with its remake in the Tamil language. The story or the plot of the film is a typical love story and have been used in many movies before, but the way it is presented in this film is worth praising and applauding. The direction is well, and it keeps the film in flow with the circumstances and never let it fall back at crucial places. Thus is the key feature of the film. However, the movie lacks in certain technical aspects like cinematography and editing. The film could have been trimmed by some more time to make more precise and entertaining.
The screenplay is somewhat slow in the first half, and it feels ditzy at most of the times. After the interval, it attains pace and starts running at a fair speed to keep the audience stick to their chairs. Also, the music is average, and it has failed to touch the standards of the original film despite the appreciable emotions.
Star Performances: Walter Philips has faded a bit in this film, and his fans would have been disappointed with him. They would want to have more of his skills than what he have showcased in this one. Isha Talwar is great in the role of a Muslim girl and has portrayed the character efficiently. Vineeth Srinivasan has penned down an amazing story for the film and has also written the screenplay for it. Mithran Jawahar has also justified his role of director in the film, and his work will ooze the audience. The performances of the rest of the crew are also appreciable, especially the ones in the technical department.
What's there? The film has an amazing narration which will please the audience with the unique way in which it is portrayed. The remake of the film is justified, and the makers have put their hearts into the film to make it interesting and worth watching. The film also excels in technical areas like editing and cinematography.
What's not there? The fans of the film industry are always looking forward to listen to some great music from a romantic film. They will feel disappointed with the music in this film. The movie is slow in the first part of the film despite the amazing concept. Also, it will feature some concrete performances from the lead cast of the film.
Verdict: The film has managed to mark its presence despite the fact that it is a remake. It seems a treat to watch, and you can enjoy it with your family.
