MORE CAST & CREW
“ Junga” is an action comedy entertainer scripted and directed by Gokul of “ Kashmora” and Idharkku Thaane Aasaippattai Balakumar fame. Vijay Sethupathi produced the film along with Arun Pandian, Isari Ganesh and Rajkumar. Siddharth Vipin is the music composer and Dudley is the cinematographer. VJ Sabu Joseph edited the film. Junga has the star cast of Madonna Sebastian, Sayesha Saigal, Saranya Ponvannan, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, Suresh Chandra Menon and Neha Sharma.
Junga is a bus conductor and he loves a Telugu girl. After the eve-teasers harass her, Junga becomes a don. Junga’s mom, who protected him from the evil guys, have to reveal the story that happened to his father and grandfather. She also reveals that they had a cinema theater named Cinema Paradise, which was given by her parents as a dowry. But, it had been grabbed from them. Junga decides to kidnap Chettiyar’s daughter Yazhini and blackmail him to return his theater, which he grabbed from his father. So, he goes to Paris. Unfortunately, Chettiyar’s daughter was kidnapped by some Italian drug mafia. Did Junga get her back? Visit the theaters to know the rest of the story.
Vijay Sethupathi had performed extremely well, as usual. Yogi Babu’s comedy is stunning, especially the French-speaking scene. Saranya Ponvannan, Radha Ravi and Suresh Chandra Menon had done their best. Madonna’s cameo has added greater value to the story. Sayesha had no big role, but she has done her part neatly.
Gokul’s script is good and he had executed the film well. At times, we feel that the film has a Venkat Prabhu and CS Amudhan touch. Some scenes are spoofed and remind us of “ Thamizh Padam 2.” Some comedy scenes didn’t impress in the second half. The dialogues are always catchy in Gokul’s movies and this film is also not an exception. Vijay Sethupathi has spent a lot on this film. The production and technical values are good.
What’s Not There?
Junga will make you laugh out loud from the beginning. You will love the filmmaking techniques and performances. Watch the film with the family and it is worth the money spent.
