Plot
Three friends on a trip witness a girl being kidnapped. Putting their wits to use, they get entangled in a series of twists and turns as they attempt to make their way out of this mess.

Analysis
Jigiri Dosthu is one of those films that turn out to be completely different from the premise they guarantee, but in a good way. Director Aran V’s directorial debut Jigiri Dosthu revolves around three friends who get involved in a series of events when they witness a kidnapping taking place. The good thing about this movie is that it is an eclectic mix of various elements, be it comedic, thrilling or otherwise. The bad part is, it fails to pull this off and lends a rather disjointed narrative altogether. The technical aspects of the film are quite good. The direction and cinematography is uniquely executed and the background score is commendable. The cast delivers impressive performances, notably VJ Ashiq. The movie could have fared a lot better had it carefully executed the overall tone and direction of the movie. Loaded with clichés and false suspense, the tinge of humor that colors the events in the movie is the only saving grace of Jigiri Dosthu.

Jigiri Dosthu is a fun and entertaining film revolving around friendships that strays into thriller territory in a commendable way. Although the movie comes with it’s fair share of flaws like the reinforcement of stereotypes, amateurish acting and false suspense, it’s a fairly engaging movie with silly banter and the essence of male friendship.
