Plot
Selva, an ardent Rajini fan is a Kung Fu master. He always uses the costumes used by Superstar Rajini. He had been waiting for the release of “
Kabali

.” While he was waiting for Kabali’s release, his area counselor tears the Kabali poster. This makes Selva angry and in an argument between the two, Selva attacks the counselor and accidentally he dies. Selva gets arrested and is put in jail. Even in prison, he plans to watch Kabali, which is gearing up for the release shortly. When he tells this to his friends and requests them to get him parole, they plan to kill his grandpa, so that he could come out. Besides this, they take initiatives to meet Superstar Rajini. But, before they kill, the grandpa dies naturally. They also tape the illicit affair of the parole officer Thambi Ramaiah and use it to threaten him to give parole to Selva. What happened next? Did Selva watch the film? Did he meet Superstar? The answers reveal the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Selva’s performance is okayish. Ajay, Ramesh Thilak, Thambi Ramaiah, M S Bhaskar, Aadhavan and Prashanth Kirubakaran have played their part neatly.
Analysis
Selva Varadharajan scripted, directed and performed in the film. As he has taken a couple of departments on his hands besides acting, he is unable to balance all the departments. However, his performance is okayish. The direction of Selva is neither amateurish nor experienced; he has to develop the directing skills well, before doing his next.

Verdict
12-12-1950, the film that comes with the birth date of superstar Rajini doesn’t leave us a big impact. While watching the film, we feel that we are watching a remake of some Rajni movie scenes. 12-12-1950 is not a bad film but doesn’t impress the viewers.
