Plot

The film follows the story of six boys who grow up to be criminals, engaging in thefts and offences. Eventually, they get an opportunity, a rich task that could change their fortune. Choosing for the job, they plan to live a regular life once they receive the reward.

Star Performances

All six actors who portrayed the boys effectively conveyed their criminal-like vibe appropriate to their characters.

Analysis

The movie revolves around the incidents taking place with the six boys. The plot seems vague, but the background score and soundtracks are well-made, enhancing the tone of the film. The dialogue writing is very average, and the storyline is a simple one. However, the pacing of the film is a problem as it takes its time to build up, making it a slow burner. The climax has an action-packed sequence which proves to be quite decent.

The writing of the film seems to be weakened with several loose ends in the plot.
The pacing of the film could have been improved by shortening it and focusing more on the main conflict.

Verdict

The movie Sambar starts off with an interesting plot but fails to conclude it successfully. There are some enjoyable scenes, particularly the action sequence in the climax. If you are a fan of South Indian action-drama, you could consider watching it as it could be a decent watch.
