Plot
The plot of the movie revolves around an English writer, Tara Anuradha. Only Tara is there in the movie. She narrates the story of her life. She is indulge in her own fear as social issues are her main focus. The narrator tries to fight the injustice and discrimination prevalent in the contemporary society. Tara tried to escape her life and live somewhere far from everyone else. She wanted to find solitude in nature. However, nature had unexpected plans for her.
She is an English writer. The acceptance of critique is the nature of any writer. However, fed from all the hate comments that Tara receives after publishing her latest book, she chose to change her life. One day, the television channel featured a haunted house in the hills. She was not scared of anything. So, she decided to live there. She thought that this house is a perfect place to take the break. When she began living in the house, unexpected events started taking place.
Star performance
The film is about only one character. The main character of the story is Tara Anuradha. She is an English writer who got lots of hate from the society after her latest publication. Nithya Menen plays Tara’s role. Throughout the film, her acting skills were excellent. It was hard to depict where the haunting incidents were taking place in her mind or in actual.
The film makers used one-person narrative. So, Nithya herself tells her tale. Her voice had depthness and it was intense. It made the movie more realistic and authentic. Tara’s character is developed. It showed changes and developments throughout the film. Nithya had perfectly balanced Tara’s emotions in all the scenes. Her acting was impressive.
Analysis
Praana is a mind-blowing film. The story line of the movie is primary yet it is very interesting. The story revolves around only one character, Tara. Her character is perfectly build. Using only one character is the film, proved beneficial to the filmmakers. The attention of the audience was on only one single character. It intensified the film’s script. Although, the script is meaningless. It is tough to visualize as during the film, it is not clear whether the events are happening in real life with the character or they are in character’s mind. The film’s direction is excellent. It goes with the film’s script.
The screenplay is also not very good. The camera angle is disturbing throughout the movie. It has average cinematography. In few scenes it was good but in other scenes it was terrible. The movie is instead a slow-movie as it showed insights of character’s mind. However, the film has a mixture of genre. It is a perfect mix of horror, psychology and thriller. The music throughout the film is intense. It made the scenes more intense.

Pranna is a watchable movie. Everyone should watch this film atleast one. It totally connects with the audience. It will also help escape our problems for a little time. So, it is a one-time watch for sure. It’s a rare and unique find.
