Plot

The film Anuragam has three parallel love stories. Ashwin (Aswin Jose) and Janani (Gouri K Kishan) study in the same engineering college. Aswin falls in love with Janani, but this love is one-sided. He tries to indicate his love, and his friend Musi also gives him ideas. On Valentine’s Day, he confesses his love to Janani. But she does not accept the love and tells him they cannot be more than best friends. Janani has such cold love feelings because of the issue between her parents.

Janani’s father, Shankar (Gautam Vasudev Menon), is a famous musician. He gets separated from his wife Devika (Lena) and starts an affair with singer Neetha (Durga Krishna). Janani is disturbed by this and wants to go to Canada for her remaining studies. Ashwin learns that he can win Janani’s love by reuniting her parents. Sheela and her son Johny Antony have another parallel story.

Will Ashwin be successful in bringing Janani’s parents back together before she leaves for Canada? What will happen to the love between Ashwin and Janani?

Star Performance

Aswin Jose gave the best and most remarkable performance compared to the rest of the cast. His true love for Janani and his try to win this love is very appealing to the viewers. He makes the viewers laugh through comedy. Gouri G Kishan excellently executed her character of a disturbed girl due to parental issues. Aswin and Jose make the viewers emotional in some scenes.

Sheela gave an attractive performance. His chemistry with her son Johny Antony looks fantastic. Johny Antony also added comedy in some scenes. Gautam Vasudev Menon and Lena delivered a realistic act. The way they fight and separate from each other is very relatable to the viewers. Devayani played her part with great care.

Analysis

The film Anuragam shows the deep family relationships and the beautiful true love. It revolves around love and relationships by depicting three beautiful parallel stories- the true love between Ashwin and Janani, the story of Johny Anthony and his mother, and the disturbed love story. By the theme of love, the film moves the heart of the viewers. The track of Sheela and his son makes the audience emotional. The songs add more beauty to this film. The performances of the cast make the film engaging.

The first half seems to be slow because it takes too much time in the introduction of the characters. The film’s story is almost predictable, so the second half does not create much excitement among the viewers. Moreover, the execution fails in some scenes.
