‘Muavza’ is a movie which you can watch if you’re utterly bored and want something to pass the time. If you have nothing else to do but don’t want to sit idle. Or you’ve finished all the movies in your bucket-list and wanted something as a filler, this is the one.

Set in the fields of Delhi, conman Bechu tricks these wealthy men into giving up most of their money under the pretence of bringing them builders, who would invest crores of money in their acres of land. Born with almost a gold spoon, the five brothers fall victim to the highly skilled, perfect malicious plans of the con-artist Bechu. In the process, he makes the brothers donate money, free goods and even gift expensive items to the previously neglected, poor village men. But why would five selfish rich men do this? The answer is in their obsession to be the greatest among all the Chowdhury. So would these brothers be blinded by the power of money? Or will Bechu be caught red-handed? Watch the movie to find out!
Analysis
The sexual innuendoes in the movie are vulgar and unnecessarily raunchy. The thick Haryanvi accent and display of money all over the place create a humorous as well as an ironic scene. The background score is pretty good and quite relevant in most frames. However, the sick and perverse attitude of the brothers is quite as intolerable as the script itself. There seems to be pointless blabbering of the same idea over and over again. Even the title doesn’t relate to the actual matter shown in the movie.
Star Performances
The only upside this movie has is the flawless acting of all the actors especially Anu Kapoor. His thick Gujjar-Haryanvi accent provides a hilarious aspect along with the stupidity of the brothers. All the actors have acted wonderfully and have moulded themselves into their characters perfectly.
What’s there?
1. Hilarious scenes that are sure to get you rolling on the floor.
2. Flawless acting done on the part of all the actors.
3. A fairly decent direction which gets you interested in the movie.
What’s Not There?
1. A good story-line. ‘Muavza’ leaves a lot of questions unanswered, like, why did Bechu want to fool the Chowdhury brothers harshly, and so on.
2. There is no originality in some scenes and were apparently taken from other movies’ story-line.
3. The story is not well developed and later goes hay-wire creating confusion.
Verdict
If you are looking for a movie with some desi Haryanvi conman attitude and if you’re willing to simply go with the flow, without having to think much, ‘Muavza’ is a decent movie you can splurge your money on!
