Plot
Kaalidhar, aka KD, is the eldest of all his siblings. As he suffers from memory loss, and the doctors revealed that there are meagre chances to get him back to normal, his family decides to leave him at the Kumbh Mela, using his memory loss. After leaving him, they filed a complaint about his disappearance to show themselves clean in the public’s view. However, KD finds their stay place, and is about to enter. But, when he overhears them speaking about him, he returns and manages to board a bus with a heartbreak. He gets a place at a temple to stay. Soon, he meets an eight-year-old kid, Ballu. He has none, and they started sharing a good relationship as father and son. KD decides to fulfil his dreams and partners with Ballu. Meanwhile, Kaalidhar’s brothers meet a financial crisis, and they wish for him to solve it. So, they decided to search for him. Did they find Kaalidhar?
Star Performance
Abhishek’s subtle performance shoulders the entire movie. He emotes gracefully. His dry smile and birdy language add positives to his character. Daivik Bhagela is good in his role as Ballu. His chemistry with Abhishek is a treat to watch. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is quite decent in his role.
Analysis
Madhumita has changed the characters and reasons in the Hindi version. The 80-year-old KD from the Tamil version is changed to a middle-aged KD in the Hindi version. The elderly man’s sons decide to kill him in the Tamil version, but in the Hindi version, they decide to send him off somewhere. Other than that, the emotions are the same in both versions. The reasons for KD leaving his lady love should’ve been made convincingly. The memory loss track is also inconsistent. It should’ve been dealt with properly. The scenes between Ballu and KD are impressive. The dialogues are neat, and nothing is off from reality.

Kaalidhar Laapata has decent performances and an impressive emotional story. It is definitely worth watching!
