Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur was born on 13th March 1982 in Pilani, Rajasthan, as the daughter of an Indian Army officer. She spent her early childhood hopping from cities to cities due to her father’s job until she lost her father to a terrorist attack in Kashmir in 1994. Her family moved to Delhi after her father’s death and she completed her schooling and college in Delhi itself.Â
She moved to Mumbai after completing her college education to find an opportunity in the acting career. She started off with local theatre works and was also a model for print media advertisements then. Her famous plays include ‘Baghdad Wedding’ and ‘All About Women And Red Sparrow’. Even though she had done a role in the 2006 English film ‘One Night With The King’, her Bollywood break came only six years later with the Anurag Kahsyap movie ‘Peddlers’ in 2012. The movie was critically acclaimed and was staged at the prestigious Cannes festival, and Nimrat Kaur’s acting got good appreciation.Â
Her next Bollywood film ‘Lunchbox’, which was released in 2013, was a huge success both critically and commercially and she got international recognition for her portrayal of the lonely wife character in the movie. This movie, which told the story of a lonely Indian wife’s friendship with a stranger over letters, was staged in Cannes film festival. Besides movies, she has also endorsed with a few brands and she is the famous ‘Cadbury’ girl from the super hit Cadbury Diary Milk ad. She is presently working with
