Rashmi Virmani is a renowned fashion choreographer and an event director hailing from Delhi, India. She did her schooling from Carmel Convent School. Later, she did Bachelor of Economics (Hon) from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi. She had a keen interest in fashion since a very young age. She never wanted to have a monotonous regular career in her life. In January 1987 she started working for Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. as a fashion journalist. At that time, this was a new-age profession and a golden opportunity by the Times Group. She worked there for two years and developed her passion towards the fashion industry. With her immense interest, she went on to be the creative director of a company called “The Event Workshop”. The company is dominantly into taking care of every little detail, right from planning to the execution of a successful event. Rashmi is a sorted individual who is clear in her approach. While choreographing a show, she follows a procedure keeping in mind the designer’s vision with regard to the show. She is a vivacious person who brings life to the vision of a designer or even a particular brand for that matter. From being closely associated with the top level management in “The Ramp Company”, she has controlled most of the glamorous events in spite of the production and other challenges that come up usually. Every day is an inspiration for her to set up a benchmark in the event industry. Transforming a designer’s vision not only requires her creative efforts but also sheer commitment and hard work. She takes charge of the walk, the models, the ramp, the music, the lights and every little detail which has to be executed in the right way to enjoy the massive success of an event. All of these include a regular part of her life. She has worked with many famous Indian designers like Rina Dhaka, Manish Malhotra, Rohit Bal, J.J. Valaya, Mandira Wirk, Gaurav Gupta, Neeta Lulla, Anita Dongre, etc. to name few of them. Rashmi along with her company has launched well-known personalities like Sushmita Sen, Aparna Kumar, Jessie Randhawa, Rahul Dev, Udita Goswami, Neha Dhupia, Aditya Bal and the list goes on. Over the years, she has also contributed to ‘Lakme Fashion Week’, ‘Triumph International Fashion Shows’, ‘Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI)’, ‘Pearl Portfolio’, ‘Jabong.com’, ‘Wills India Fashion Week’, ‘Marks & Spencer’, ‘L’Oréal’, ‘Enamor’, ‘VLCC’, ‘Oriflame’, ‘Asian Super Model Contest’, ‘Toni & Guy’, ‘Super Models Festival’, etc. These include national as well as international shows.
