Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a film based on true events. An American TV journalist Kim Baker (unlike Kim Barker, who is a Chicago Tribune Reporter) was sent to Afghanistan to cover the events of the war in 2002. The movie is an adaptation of the book Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan by the journalist herself.The movie and the book are equally funny. Talking about the movie, it’s good in every aspect, you laugh on the weird situations and scenarios that the journalist has to face, for example, she is hit on numerous times by numerous people on numerous times (even the Prime Minister hits on her or subtly tries to see her as a special friend). If you keenly look into the meaning of the title of the movie you will find it rather appropriate.
