Plot: Johnny Depp is an American journalist who takes on a freelance job for a local newspaper in Puerto Rico during the 1960s and struggles to find a balanced way between island culture and the people who live there.
The movie can be reviewed from two perspectives; one by reader’s perspective and other by the viewer’s perspective. Bruce Robinson only focused on the good part of the book and neglected its darker side. But for those who have not read the book, it is a treat to watch, this type of cinema is something every movie lover would watch. Johnny Depp is one of the finest actors Hollywood has ever had. He does justice to his role as Kemp and entertains us throughout the film.
The theme of the movie is very much real and closer to practicality. It is a hilarious creation and deserves to be watched more than once. The pace of the movie is never slow, and the flow makes you happy.
Verdict: Overall, the adoption is good, sets are beautiful, strong characters, the direction is great, acting is phenomenal and moreover conveys a message with laughter and on a very lighter note.
