The Little Prince Click to look into! >> Read More... (2015) is a beautiful and soft illustration of a tale by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In the movie which is directed by Mark Osborne, the significant actors include: Jeff bridges as the aviator, Rachel McAdams Born as Rachel Anne McAdams on November 17th 1978 >> Read More... as the mother and young Mackenzie Foy plays as the little girl. It is noteworthy, that the French version has voices of André Dussollier and Florence Foresti. The motion picture was directed by Nicolas Duval Adami Its producers were Dimitri Rassam and Aton Soumache The film used music by Hans Zimmer German-born musician Hans Zimmer is known as one o >> Read More... and Richard Harvey. Animation was supervised by Jamie Caliri which incorporated both stop-motion and Computer-Generated Imagery or CGI to come up with a singular aesthetic.

Plot

It is a story of a young girl who is trapped in a rigorous environment that has been created and managed by her own mother. This is the story of a woman whose life changes when she moves to a new house which is next to an unusual older man, an aviator. From the Aviator, she gets to listen to several stories including the story of The Little Prince, a young boy from another planet who goes on a journey. The social and moral lesson as the little girl gets to know the story better where one starts to look at the world from another prospective and realizes the value of imagination, relationships and the yearning of the heart. The little girl appears to be a representative of the present time and the world of The Little Prince is shown to be a fairy-tale, hence a conflict between the two is built into the film.

Star Performance

I also enjoyed Jeff Bridges Jeff Bridges is a movie actor as well as a produce >> Read More... ’ portrayal of The Aviator; introducing a raw and somewhat goofy perspective at the character. Mackenzie Foy is making good strides as The Little Girl, though her childish curiosity is the primary reason behind the growing sentimentality of the film. However, it might be essential to note that Rachel McAdams is as talented as ever in her bid to be a good mother and provider for her child while at the same time not caging her beast. The casting for the voice has been well done and all the actors have done their best to ensure that imaginations in the movie are as close as possible.

Analysis

The director, Mark Osborne, does a fantastic job of introducing philosophy to the audience while at the same time staying loyal to the novel’s concept and targeting children and adults for viewership. One of the film’s most vital aspects is its animation; for the live-action sequences, the CGI is effective and for the story of The Little Prince, the scenes are stop-motion, which gives the motion picture the contrast that is related to its themes. The film bears a powerful and magical feeling which is accompanied by the music composed by Hans Zimmer and Richard Harvey. Although, the screenplay adapted the plot from the novella and set it in the modern world, it remains close to the essence of the work, where the audience can understand the world with the help of a child’s vision.

What’s There?

  • It is used along with motion animation which brings a great contrast and designs the film comprehensively.
  • Thanks to the work of voice actors such as Jeff Bridges and Mackenzie Foy the characters of the movie are likeable and the plot carries the emotionally engaging performance.
  • The movie offers the viewers philosophical themes that are present in the novella but makes them understandable for modern people.

What’s Not There?

  • They are may appear dull especially when there are segments such as sub given towards the middle part of the film that expound on the theme of philosophy.
  • Less drastic, however, might be the fact that the real meanings of the movie may be tricky for children below a certain age to understand, which will need adult interpretation.

Verdict

The movie The Little Prince (2015) occupies the audience with the beautiful animation. It touches everyone’s heart with the deep meaning of the movie along with the novel of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Although it may be somewhat challenging for children of a very young age to follow, the theme of imagination, interpersonal connections, and the struggle of the kid’s version of reality against the real world of grown-ups makes the film fit for the families’ viewing. The movie’s uniqueness in the animation style, and excellent voices given to the characters to make it an exciting adaptation of the novella.
