Plot
The film starts in a small village in India situated in Odisha. Where, Graham Staines has been staying and working there for over two decades. He works to offer medical help and support to the villagers who are suffering from Leprosy. He has vast respect among the villagers but a there was a community who was opposing him as they suspect him because of his motives, mainly because of his contribution in Christian missionary work. Manav Banerjee, a young journalist, arrives in the village with his wife, who was expecting. He was there in search of work in the local newspaper. In the next scene we see that his editor has assigned him to investigate the rumours about Graham. There was a rumour about him that, he is illegally influencing and converting Hindus to Christianity by offering them money, and other benefits. As Manav was in crisis and he needed the money to support his family, he took up the task. He started following Graham daily and observing his day-to-day activities in the leprosy patients. As the day’s passes, Manav was diving more profound in the mission and from his observations, he began to question the accusations against Staines. While a specific committee was doubting on Graham’s intentions and his motive behind the help that he is offering, Manav’s believe have grown stronger on Graham’s selfless services and his love for the villagers. Was Graham involved in some illegal activities? Why is the committee doubting Graham despite his good deeds? The rest of the plot talk about it.
Star Performance
Lead, Stephen Baldwin who plays as Graham Staines delivers a restrained and heart touching performance as a social worker who dedicated his life to work for people. Sharman Joshi plays as Manav Banerjee, he has well played the role and successfully delivered the emotional aspect of the particular character. The seamless effort given by Jay Silver are clearly visible through cinematography, he successfully understood the scenario of the story and was able to showcase it. The direction was also on point which was realistic and involving.
Analysis
The Least of These are supported by strong characters and performers, but the story is a little complex, involving religious fights and tensions that is promoted in the village. The story has a perfect pace, which is not too slow or fast. The film also portrays the daily struggles of Staines which he faces at his work on treating leprosy patients. The film also may seem to have conflicts and disagreements because of the religious aspect in the village. Altogether, the script, the performance and the aesthetic off the movie absorbs all the negativity that may be delivered through the disagreements of religions. Â

Verdict
The film may seem like any other, with no other extraordinary storytelling style. Still, the plot can serve as an inspiration to the humanity, which has priority above all the religions.
