has done the role of Omar Razaghi in the movie. Omar’s intention is to write a book on the writer Jules Gund. The writer had been living in Uruguay with his family and had committed suicide. Gund is survived by his brother Adam and daughter Arden. The entire movie is about Omar’s negotiations with the nondescript writer’s family before he could get consent to write a biography of the writer. The scenes in the movie depict the difficulty that Omar faces before he could get consent for the biography on Jules Gund.
Omar’s girlfriend Dierdre motivates him during the difficult times. Omar steers clear of difficulties with every other family member except one. Caroline, an exception in the family, puts Omar into difficulty. Omar has to play high stakes with the dead writer’s brother to get what he wants. Omar develops a particular interest on Arden, a young girl who is a member of the family. By then Omar’s girlfriend Dierdre had decided to come into the scene.
Very few distributors purchased the movie, and the movie was screened in select theaters. The movie bombed at the box-office. Beyond all the setbacks, the movie was critically acclaimed. The movie lacks emotions in it and does not make up for the movies produced by the deceased producer Ismail Merchant.
Verdict: The shortcoming makes the movie a dreary one despite the fact that it has excellent actors in it.
