Plot

Sylvie's father owns a record store. Her father hires Robert. Robert and Sylvie started bonding with each other. Sylvie tells him that her parents fixed her marriage with a rich person named Lacy. Lacy is fighting in Korean War. Sylvie do not want to marry him because she do not love him. Robert invites Sylvie and her cousin Mona to his show at a club. Robert is part in a band named, The Dickie Brewster Quartet. He is a saxophonist of the band. Sylvie likes Robert's performance. Mona likes Robert's bandmate Chico. She danced with him. Later Sylvie also danced with Robert. But Sylvie informs Robert that she does not want to be in a relationship with him. This angered Robert. He began to ignoring her. They meet at a club. Robert started dancing with another woman. This angered Sylvie. When Robert follows where, she finally reveals that she does not like when any other woman started dancing with him because she loves him. This made Robert happy. They starts dating each other. They started intimating each other. Later, the band leader informs the band that they are going to Paris for the performance. Everyone becomes happy when they hear the news. Robert tells this news to Sylvie. He tells her to come with them. She says she will think about it. After a few days, she came to know that she was pregnant. When Robert was ready to go to Paris, Sylvie arrived. He believes she will come along with him. But she did not go with him, or inform him that she was pregnant. Why did Sylvie not informs Robert that she was pregnant? Will they continue their relationship? Will Sylvie marry Lacy? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance Tessa Thompson did a great job in acting. Her acting is always great since her debut in films. This was one of the most superb films she ever did. Her emotions, and expression were terrific. Her presence in the movie was delightful. Nnamdi Asomugha made an outstanding performance. His acting was astonishing. His role as Robert was fantastic. His chemistry with Tessa was excellent. Aja Naomi King, Rege-Jean Page and Alano Miller did a contributed significantly to the film. Their presence made the films come alive. All the other actors were as good as the lead actors.

Analysis

The storyline of the movie was so good. The visuals in the film were so beautiful. Every Scene in the movie was satisfying. The chemistry, care, and love of the couples are beautifully shown in the movie. The romantic scenes in the movie were excellent. It was not overrated or even less in amount, it was in perfect sync. The music and songs were amazing. Two or three dance scenes were shown but still made a hidden impact in the film. The dialogues were terrific in the movie.

The film did not have suspense.

Verdict

The film beautifully shows the relationship of couples who love and care about each other. There is not any movie with such a beautiful and delicate storyline. Those who like romantic films will enjoy this movie.
