A man unites with his family through his estranged father's death.
Plot:
Sam violates the government laws in his trading, and is forced by his boss to bribe them in his expense. Hannah, his girlfriend, informs him about his father Jerry's death in Los Angeles. He gets to know from his family lawyer that Jerry has never mentioned anything about giving a share to Sam.
But later he finds a huge amount in a shaving kit. It is also mentioned that the money is in the name of Sam's step-sister's son Josh Davis. Josh is an 11-year-old boy, and his mom Frankie is an alcoholic person. Sam befriends her and gets close with the duo.
He also plans to obtain the money for himself. On hearing this, Hannah gets back to her place. Later, he reveals his identity. Frankie gets angry, and completely cut off the contact with him. The rest of the story lies on how Sam and Frankie get back as a family. At times, everything seems to be unbelievable.
Sam does everything for his selfishness, and it is also shocking that how can Frankie leave her son to a stranger and carry on with her works. Though the performance of all the artists was good, the role played by them did not impress us much. They failed to make an impact on us.
Most of the time they were blaming others for the problems made by them. Screenwriter failed to create a magic on screen. He made the story more complex. It is just a matter of conversation. Despite weak the screenplay, the actors succeeded in holding our interest. They deserve an honor for their performance.
The director also gives us the idea on how our past could influence our future. Sometimes there are scenes that make us emotional.
Verdict: A satisfying movie, when watched without expecting logic.
