PLOT:

This movie has two parts. One part is about the wedding of Justine ( Kirsten Dunst She’s one the most glamorous actress and garnered >> Read More... ) and the challenges of Justine’s fragile life.

Newlywed, Justine and Michael ( Alexander Skarsgard Alexander Skarsgard is a Swedish-American actor. H >> Read More... ) arrive late to their wedding reception. Justine’ s sister, Claire (Charlotte Gainsbourg), and her husband John ( Kiefer Sutherland Kiefer Sutherland is an eminent British-Canadian a >> Read More... ) reside at that place only. Justine struggles with the premonitions of a blue planet called Melancholia. John handled the cost of the wedding and other arrangements. Justine’s father is a selfish person. Hence, he doesn’t have a strong bond with her. However, her mother is honest, which defines her persona. Claire requests Justine to repress herself from the wedding, and after that, they both go see Melancholia approach earth.

During the wedding speech, Justine’s boss was hustling her to meet the work deadline. Her boss is ruthless and greedy, and he believes that things revolve around the work of tag lines to promote the business.

The second part deals with Justine’s relationship with her sister, Claire. The second part also follows Justine’s mental decay as the Melancholia collision approaches. John explains the reason Melancholia was blocking the stars from their view. During Justine’s depression, her sister Claire is unable to make her happy. Justine is so numb that even her favorite dish tastes of ash. Seeing all this, Claire becomes fearful that the end of the world is near, in spite of reassurance from her husband that everyone will be safe. She searches the internet and finds articles related to Melancholia. The other day, however, she realized that the Melancholia is circling back and will collide with earth.

As the world comes to an end, Justine as sturdy lady, Claire, and their young nephew sit under the magic cave.

ANALYSIS:

Through this film, director Von Trier, inspired emotive responses in his audience. This film gives the message of recovery and shows that birth of acceptance is the inner inspiration. This picture is one of the most visually impressive films.

STAR PERFORMANCES:

Dunst’s expressive and wealthy face defines the narrative; Keifer invested in providing a nice counterpoint in his typically warm presence, and Charlotte justified her part very well.

WHAT’S THERE?

There is a cosmic connection between women and nature, which is interesting.

WHAT’S NOT THERE?

Skarsgard’s character could have been better.

VERDICT:

This film is beautiful, intelligent and beyond expectations.
