CAST & CREW
The story of a ternion group, who is opposed by the cops for not offering the perks.
Forrest, Howard, and Jack, together known as ‘The Bondurant brothers,’ run an illegitimate trafficking business. A special deputy, Charley Rakes, demands a bribe from the Bondurants. The latter never accepts this, and faces problems by Rakes. In spite of so much of ruckus created by Rakes, the trio faces him and takes revenge on him. This movie was taken based on a book, namely ‘The wettest country in the world’, a book by Matt Bondurant, who himself was the grandson of one of the brothers.
Savagery and bloodshed occupy most of the film. But the director also showed few aspects of love, brotherhood, etc. He has also put a wonderful effort in extracting the best performances from the artists. Hardy, almost gets into the role of Forrest. Though he acts as one of the supporting roles, he succeeds beautifully in gaining everyone’s interest. He does the role as a responsible brother who runs the business and protect the brothers as well. Clarke as Howard acts as one tough guy, who is the most violent when compared to his brothers.
LaBeouf as Jack is simply a misplacement in a wrong era. He seems to be a bit updated from his character since the movie comes as in the late thirties. Oldman comes as Floyd Banner, who shares his mutual feelings against Rakes and helps the brothers. He completely utilizes his scenes and makes us eager to yearn for his appearance on screen. Two different events happen side by side; On one side, Jack tries to woo a small town girl called Bertha, and on the other side, Hardy takes a gruesome revenge on mobs by cutting their genitals happens.
